Visual Studio 2013

A fairly recent software that has come into existence in the recent years called visual studio 2013.  The software is made by the company Microsoft and it is a tool for programmers to build software and related systems.

Visual Studio 2013 is available on the open market and retails from there most basic shell Visual Studio Express(Free) to the more complete Visual Studio Ultimate($13,299.00) and many different versions in-between.  The Visual Studio Express version is a very basic version that Microsoft has released and can be downloaded here.  So what you can tell from this information is that Visual Studio 2013 can be used recreationally in addition to making marketable code.  It can be used recreationally by aspiring programmers and people of any coding skill level.  Visual Studio 2013 allows the user to code in C# or Visual Basic, both of which higher level programming languages were made by Microsoft.   Visual Basic is a coding language that is normally used for beginning programmers.  While Visual Basic is object oriented like C# it was designed to be more relatable to worded statements rather than keywords and symbols like the C# language has.  While Visual Studio can accommodate the beginner levels of programming it can also handle the intermediate to expert levels.

Some of the key features in the Visual Studio software include advanced testing, UML visualization, and advanced architectural modeling.  Some advanced testing areas apply constant, step, or goal-based load patterns for load testing.  This includes both black and white box testing within the software.  It also analyzes and interprets test results in multiple ways that allow rapid identification of trends and issues.  UML visualization diagrams within the software will help with the perception of the code.  The advanced architectural modeling in the software will allow you to browse and find code in source files and compiled code, including assembly files, and executable files.

User Interfaces are very important when it comes to programming software.  Microsoft knows this and has developed Visual Studio 2013 to reflect that.  The software does have sort of a Microsoft Office style and feel to it.  It has a similar layout where the tabs that allow you to start, add, delete, view, and execute the code, run across the top of the page.  On the right side of the User Interface is the very important Solution Explorer.  The Solution Explorer allows the user to view what is all going into the form or webpage that the he/she is creating.  On the left side of the screen is the Server Explorer, also a valuable and easily accessible tool.  The Server Explorer handles all of the database information used in the code, and also whether any webpage that is created is hosted locally or through another domain.

So as you can see Visual Studio 2013 triumphs when it comes to programming software.  It has accommodations for every programmer's skill level, great user interface, amazing new features, and it allows for the recreational programming or being able to deliver marketable software at the highest levels of the industry.
